Asorphi Academy Higher Secondary School, Pynursla Cultural Club

The Asorphi Academy Higher Secondary School, Pynursla Cultural Club is constituted under the Meghalaya Programme for Adolescent Wellbeing, Empowerment and Resilience (MPOWER) – PACE (Play, Arts, Culture & Environment) initiative of the Government of Meghalaya. The Club aims to nurture students’ artistic talents, preserve and promote cultural heritage, encourage creativity, and foster teamwork, leadership, confidence and holistic development through music, dance, drama, folk arts and other cultural activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Cultural Club shall:

• Conduct regular cultural activities and programmes for students.
• Promote active participation in music, dance, drama, cultural and related activities.
• Ensure inclusion and equal participation of both boys and girls.
• Maintain discipline, safety and proper conduct during all Club activities.
• Ensure the proper use, maintenance and safe custody of musical instruments and other resources provided under MPOWER.
• Maintain attendance registers, activity records and relevant documentation.
• Submit periodic reports on Club activities to the School Administration.

The Teacher Coordinator shall supervise the overall functioning of the Cultural Club, provide guidance to the student office bearers and members, and ensure the effective implementation of all Club activities in accordance with the objectives and guidelines of the MPOWER PACE programme.
